The Goa State Industries Association (GSIA) has fully supported Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s desire to keep economic activity open and to avoid a complete lockdown.

“Right from day one, industries are following all SOP’s to contain this pandemic. We have to keep economic engine running or else, we will face other type of pandemic which this state and our country cannot afford,” stated GSIA President Damodar Kochkar in a press note.

“We understand that the Covid-19 second wave is creating major havoc in the State and I feel we all are responsible for the same. Why blame ECI or the government? Nobody forced people to attend Melas, weddings and religious ceremonies or even go to vote!!”

“When the entire world was taking precautions, people were going around as if Covid is over and gone. Responsible and conscious behaviour is what is require from every citizen,” Kochkar added.
