The Goa University has denied permission to Shri Kamaxidevi Homeopathic Medical College (Shiroda) to start admissions for a first year degree course in Homeopathy for the academic year 2021-22. Prof V S Nadkarni, registrar of Goa University has written to the college intimating the notice of denial for the new admissions. The National Homeopathy Commission’s Medical Valuation and Rating Board had visited Shri Kamaxidevi Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital to observe the working of the college and had found some lapses and shortcomings.
The Board had directed the college to correct these shortcomings, however the college did not take any action to correct them, and hence the Board denied permission to the college to start the first year course in Homeopathy in 2021-22. The college had informed Goa University about this on December 8, 2021.
After this the Goa University put a ban on the admission process, and asked the college not to admit first year students for the Homeopathy course. Also, all the earlier permissions granted to the college are also withdrawn.
