The house of Vasudev Morajkar in Gimoy-Morle located in Morle Gram Panchayat area has collapsed due to the heavy showers. Local MLA and Goa Forest Development Corporation chief Dr Deviya Rane has assured to provide a new house for the family as soon as possible. Panchayat Sarpanch Amit Shirodkar and panch member Ruchita Mainkar have informed that efforts are being made to shift the family to another place as a temporary arrangement.
It has been raining heavily for the past few days. Due to this, part of the family's house collapsed on Saturday midnight. Fortunately, there was no loss of life. However, many household appliances in the house have been damaged.
As per the information given by the family, the house had developed cracks in the past few days.The remaining portion of the house is in unsafe condition.
Meanwhile, Panchayat Sarpanch Amit Shirodkar along with local Panch member Mainkar visited the house. After inspection, they said that efforts are being made to shift the family elsewhere for the time being and efforts will be to provide necessary compensation to this family at the government level.
The local Talathi has conducted a panchnama in this regard and he will submit the report to the government through Mamlatdar.
