IYC meet discusses key issues facing people

The two-day National Executive meeting of Indian Youth Congress (IYC) began in Goa on Sunday under the leadership of the National In-charge of Indian Youth Congress and AICC Jt-Secretary Krishna Allavaru and National President Srinivas BV. 

All the national office bearers and state presidents of Youth Congress were present.

Before the meeting, National In-charge of Youth Congress Krishna Allavaru and National President Srinivas BV first hoisted national flag, and on the occasion of Teacher's Day, paid floral tributes to Bharat Ratna former president Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. 

Before the beginning of the meeting, Krishna Allavaru and Srinivas BV also paid tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.

On this occasion, former Union Minister and present Rajya Sabha MP P. Chidambaram, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar, Former Goa CM and Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat, GPCC Congress Working President Aleixo Sequira  duly inaugurated the national executive meeting by lighting the lamp. P. Chidambaram called upon the Youth Congress national office bearers and state presidents from all over the country to play an important role in the election going states, making them aware of the reality of the current burning issues facing the country. 

In his address, he emphasized on rising unemployment and the National Monetization Pipeline, and said that the National Monetization Pipeline scheme of the Central Government is daylight robbery.

Goa Congress State President Girish Chodankar, while addressing the national executive meeting, appreciated the service work done by the Youth Congress in lockdown, and also discussed about the Vidhan Sabha elections to be held next year in the state. 

On this occasion the former Chief Minister of Goa Digambar Kamat while addressing the National Executive mentioned the important role of Youth Congress in Goa elections. In the meeting, on the topic of national security and defense, Praveen Sawhney also addressed all Youth Congress colleagues.

Office bearers of the Youth Congress, and the state presidents suggested to run a nationwide movement on the issue of youth unemployment, inflation, farmers, and also assembly elections in the states was discussed. During this, there was also a discussion regarding the internal elections of the Indian Youth Congress. Indian Youth Congress National media in-charge Rahul Rao said that the second day's meeting of the two-day National Executive will be held on Monday.
