A 46-year-old man from Canca has been booked for allegedly assaulting his wife, Mapusa Police said.
The incident took place on Saturday evening when the wife of the accused was on her regular evening walk along the Parra church road.
Police said the alleged accused Dominic Correia chased his wife and abused and threatened her. He further attacked her with a sharp weapon causing injuries to her.
Mapusa police registered an offence under Sections 324, 504 and 506(ii) of the IPC but no arrest was made yet. Police are investigating further.
