PANAJI
Refuting all allegations of a scam in job recruitment, PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar on Sunday clarified that around 368 of the candidates have been selected following the procedure without any interference.
BJP MLA Babush Monserrate on Saturday alleged that PWD Minister has taken money for recruitment in the PWD.
Responding to the Panaji MLA's allegations, Pauskar said that the accusation has no proof. "GEC college has set the paper and the polytechnic college has declared the results. As a Minister, I have not interfered in the process", said Pauskar.
"Around 368 jobs have been given as per polytechnic results. I have not interfered in the recruitment process", said Pauskar.
Pauskar said that Babush had recommended some candidates, but he did not interfere in the process.
"I have not interfered in the recruitment process. I don't know what is in his (Babush) mind", said Pauskar.
Meanwhile, Babush has reiterated his allegations. In fact, he went one step ahead in allegations saying that the job recruitment scam is about Rs 70 crore.
Monserrate also accepted that he has recommended some of the candidates for the jobs.
"I go to all the ministers for the job. I beg for the jobs. The youth apply to come to us. I go to different ministers. If he is selling the jobs he should have told me. The candidates I have suggested are well qualified", said Monserrate.
Monserrate said that 90 per cent of jobs in PWD are being sold.
