Land grab accused held once again for property fraud

Royson Rodrigues, previously arrested in six separate land grabbing cases has been taken into custody once again in connection with an alleged property fraud involving forged documents and impersonation.

Rodrigues, aged 52 years and a resident of Marna-Siolim, was arrested by Special Investigation Team (land grab) in connection with alleged fraudulent transfer of land bearing survey number 78/2 in Assagao village.

The complaint, lodged by Vincent D’Souza of New Delhi, alleged that Rodrigues and three others Paulina Juliana Diniz, Mariano Antonio Teles Gonsalves, and Branco Rodrigues, conspired to forge documents and impersonate legal heirs to unlawfully transfer property ownership.

According to SP Rahul Gupta, the offence took place prior to March 28, 2021.

 The accused allegedly submitted forged documents to local authorities, misrepresenting themselves as rightful heirs to the property. The fraudulent transaction ultimately deprived the actual heirs of their legal rights.
