MGP has expelled its general secretary and former MLA Lavoo Mamledar for six years from the party for anti-party activities.
Earlier, the Central Committee had decided to expel Mamledar and now the party general meeting also decided to suspend him.
"Those who are trying to divide the party have got a befitting reply through the party elections and executive committee meeting today," said Party President Deepak Dhavlikar.
Meanwhile, Deepak Dhavlikar said that MGP will fight Municipality elections. "We have decided to strengthen the party," said Dhavlikar.
He said that the policies of the party should change as per the present scenario.
The policies of the party will be decided by the MGP committee keeping in mind the present Goan political scenario, he added. Dhavlikar told the media that the party will prepare in full swing for the legislative assembly elections in 2022.
