Anjuna Police arrested a 41-year-old Liberian national on charges of possessing cocaine worth Rs 60,000 on Monday.The accused Julius Beford who is presently residing at Parra has been arrested.
Acting on specific information, Anjuna Police conducted a raid at around midnight near Splash down water park, Anjuna, Mapusa SDPO Jivba Dalvi said.
“The accused was found in possession of 4 grams of narcotic drug suspected to be Cocaine worth Rs 60,000,” Dalvi said.
An offence under section 21(b)of the NDPS Act was registered and the accused was placed under arrest.
The raiding team consisted of PSI Dhiraj R Devidas and constables Ajinkya Ghogale, Mahendra Mandrekar, Rama Parab, Adarsh Nagekar, Jeeven Kinlekar and Amir Phadte.
Further investigation is in progress.
