The Mapusa Additional Sessions Court on Tuesday once again adjourned the pronouncement of its order on the bail applications filed by brothers Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra in connection with the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub fire case.
According to the counsel of Luthra brothers, the order was not ready and has now been scheduled for pronouncement on February 12.
The Luthra brothers, who are among the accused in the case, had sought bail in connection with the fire incident at the popular Anjuna nightclub, which triggered a criminal investigation into alleged lapses in safety norms and permissions.
Meanwhile, the court has fixed February 18 for hearing the brothers’ anticipatory bail applications in a separate forgery case pertaining to the nightclub’s licences.
The interim protection earlier granted to the accused will continue till then.
In another development, former sarpanch of Arpora“Nagoa, Roshan Redkar, has moved a bail application before the same court in the Birch nightclub fire case.
Redkar’s counsel informed that his bail plea is scheduled to come up for hearing on Wednesday, February 11.
