Maiden 'term 1' HSSC board exam gets underway, SSC begins today

PANAJI

Thousands of class XII students across schools in Goa on Wednesday wrote the first papers of their 'Term 1' of the new two-term board exam pattern introduced by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education from the current academic year.

A total of 18,227 students are registered.

The first papers of the SSC (Class X) first term exam will commence from Thursday for which 20,603 students are registered.

The second term examinations will be conducted by the board for SSC and HSSC in March-April next year.

Most of the subject papers are for the first time to be assessed by the GBSHSE through optical marks recognition (OMR).

The GBSHSE has introduced this new two-term board exam pattern after it was unable to hold the single public exam earlier this year for the previous academic year students due to the raging Covid pandemic.

In this situation, the assessment was done based on performance in internal school tests through the academic year in which most instruction and academic work was carried out online.
