A male body was found near the Vaddem lake on Monday morning.
PSI Swapnil Naik told reporters that it appeared there was no foul play in the incident.
"We got a call that an unknown person was lying unconscious near the Vaddem lake and we sent our PCR to check and verify the case because sometimes some people drink and sleep on roadsides.”
“The ambulance and the first response team told us that the person was dead and I came to the site to complete the formalities. It is an unknown body and there are no claimants and we will send this body for preservation.”
PSI Naik said the deceased is around 40-45 years and there is no suspicion in this incident.
“As of now, we have found out that he is a beggar and had visited a hospital with a fever and he was treated and discharged with these tablets. We have found some tablets in his pocket and I have sent a staff to the hospitals to try and verify it to get his details.”
“He was found to be shivering near a gym around the Vaddem lake on late Saturday evening, after which a gym trainer gave him his raincoat and told him to leave.”
“He may have collapsed due to sickness on Sunday and no one realised it because shops were closed and we got a call today morning. We have registered a case of unnatural death under 174 CrPC and are further investigating the case," said Naik.
