Man booked for assaulting traffic marshal at Mopa airport site

Pernem police booked an offence against a man from Varkhand-Pernem on charges of abusing, assaulting and threatening a traffic marshal at the Mopa airport site.

According to Pernem police, the accused from Varkhand went to the Mopa airport site in a tinted car and parked the vehicle, blocking the road.

When he was requested to move his car, he allegedly abused, assaulted and threatened the traffic marshal with dire consequences. He was also accused of snatching the chain worn by the complainant.

Police said the accused has many cases registered against him at the police stations in Pernem, Porvorim, Ponda and Mapusa.

Police have attached car which was hidden in Varkhand and an offence under Sections 504, 356, 379, 506 (ii) IPC have been registered. Efforts are on to track the accused and investigations are in progress.
