CANACONA: ManoShobha Kalaghar will launch a new series, ‘Khonn Khonn Kankonn’, on Goa Liberation Day, profiling young filmmakers from Canacona who have achieved national recognition. The event will be launched by veteran filmmaker Rakesh Sharma and feature a dialogue with filmmakers Barkha Naik and Suyash Kamat, interviewed by Goa’s popular Radio Jockey, Uday Chari.
Episode 0.1 of the series will take place on Thursday, 19th December, at ManoShobha Kalaghar, Agas in Loliem village, Canacona. The event will include screenings of award-winning short films ‘Salt’ by Barkha Naik and ‘Sadabahar’ by Suyash Kamat.
Barkha Naik, a native of Agas, won the Silver Conch for ‘Salt’ at MIFF and was a finalist in Netflix’s Take Ten contest. Suyash Kamat, a post-graduate student at Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, was also part of the Take Ten contest and worked on the Grand Prix-winning film All We Imagine as Light at Cannes. The programme is open to aspiring filmmakers and will cover various aspects of filmmaking.
