Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza along with GSIDC official Jude Carvalho and other officials inspected ongoing work of the new Mapusa bus stand on Thursday.
Mapusa Municipal Council Chairperson Shubhangi Waingankar and Councillor Viraj Phadte were also present during the inspection.
“Phase 1 of the work will be completed by January 1. The new bus stand will include washroom facilities for travellers. There will be a dedicated parking space for inter-state busses, thereby reducing the pressure to accommodate intra-state vehicles.”
“In the second phase, the present KTC bus stand will be shifted here and eventually, the RTO office, and KTC building will be erected here itself,” said the MLA.
