MARGAO
Even as the Congress-turned-BJP Margao MLA Digambar Kamat has managed to calm down the political storm that hit the Margao Municipal Council, he has another equally challenging task at hand “ to get the government withdraw the order issued by the Director, Urban Development withdrawing the recruitment process as cancelled.
In fact, if sources are to be believed, the Margao MLA is believed to be banking on Urban Development Minister Vishwajit Rane to bail him out from the predicament by withdrawing his note to the Urban Development Director to pave way for the withdrawal of the cancellation of the recruitment process.
Sources informed that Kamat had called on the Urban Development Minister on Friday with a plea to withdraw the Urban Development Director’s letter cancelling the recruitment process.
Sources further said the Urban Development Minister had reportedly assured the Margao MLA that he would take the necessary decision on Monday.
Given the situation, all eyes are now focused on the Urban Development Minister since the Director, Urban Development can withdraw the cancellation of the recruitment process only if the Urban Development Minister withdraws his note put up to the Director, with a direction that vacant posts in all the Municipal Councils should be filled up by the Urban Development or through the staff selection process.
