MMC issues notice to 15 shops in old vegetable market

VASCO
Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Chief Officer Arvind Bugde has issued show-cause notices to around 15 shops in the old vegetable market for installing rolling shutters and operating a mobile gallery business without the necessary permission from authorities.

A written complaint in this matter was filed before the MMC Chief Officer by Niz Goenkar Revolution Front (NGRF) spokesperson Chandrashekar Vast.

Speaking to media, Vast said there were several shops which have come up in the old vegetable market area in Vasco and also had shutters without permissions.

"How can anyone convert a shop into a mobile gallery that too in a vegetable market? These mobile galleries do not have any permission from local authorities to run a business nor do they have permission to install rolling metallic shutters for their shops. The chief officer must take immediate action against these wrongdoings highlighted by the NGRF," said Vast.

When contacted, Bugde said he had issued show-cause notices to around 15 shops in the old vegetable market and action would be initiated soon.
