Nat U-17 football: Goa girls go down to Sikkim

Goa were stunned by Sikkim 1-2 in Group D of Under-17 Girls national Football Championship at Indira Gandhi Practice Ground, Guwahati on Thursday.

Goa started the game in the right earnest and Anisha Gupta rocked the rival citadel in the 6th minute. However, their joy was short-lived as in the 13th minute, Simran Gurang cancelled the lead. Crossing over, both the teams went all out in search of a match winner.

Priya Chettri struck the deciding goal in the 51st minute. Goa will play against Arunchal Pradesh next on June 26 while Sikkim will meet HImachal Pradesh.

Taxi drivers not using digital meters to face action

PANAJITransport Minister Mauvin Godinho has warned taxi operators of strict action if they have not installed digital meters or if they are not using the digital meters.“The transport department will launch a drive across the State from next week against taxi operators who refuse to use digital meters.
