Relatives of Edwin Coelho has said the family and friends would continue to take legal recourse to see that suspended Police Sub-Inspector Stanley Gomes is dismissed from service.
When The Goan contacted Edwin’s family members for their reaction after the Margao police registered a FIR against the suspended PSI, the family pointed out that justice would be meted to the victim only when the suspended PSI is dismissed from service.
In fact, the family is now bracing up to file a complaint before the State Police Complaints Authority (SPCA) as well as the Court to initiate action against the suspended PSI.
As already reported by The Goan, the Margao police had on Tuesday registered an FIR against the suspended cop under Section 325 and 504 of the IPC for causing grievous hurt and for insults.
When The Goan called up the Margao police to find out whether the accused PSI was called for investigations into the FIR, the police merely said the investigations into the complaint filed by the victim has got underway with the registration of the FIR.
“Investigations into the case has now got underway,” a senior officer added.
