Nepali youth held with drugs at Sangolda

A youth from Nepal was arrested on charges of possessing drugs worth Rs 70,000 at Sangolda.

Acting on reliable information, a Saligao police team led by PSI Akshay Gaonkar and under the supervision of Police Inspector Somnath Mahajik conducted a raid near Nils CafÃ©, Morod, Sangolda sometime between 9.15 pm on Friday night and 1.15 am on Saturday and nabbed Roshan Harsh Japrel (24) in possession of narcotic substance suspected to be Ganja weighing 0.711 Kgs and valued at Rs 70,000.

The accused has been arrested by Saligao police under the NDPS Act and PSI Dishan Naik is investigating the case under supervision of PI Mhajik under the guidance of SDPO Porvorim Vishwesh Karpe and SP North Goa SP Akshat Kaushal.

Landslide-hit Malpe route likely to reopen by Sep 30

PANAJIThe Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has announced the utilisation of 25 metres of private land on both sides of the NH-66 cut section at Malpe for slope stabilisation after the recent landslide.
