New Mandovi Bridge to be shut from March 27 to April 5

Panaji: The Public Works Department (PWD) has announced the closure of the New Mandovi Bridge for all vehicles from March 27 to April 5 for resurfacing and painting work. Traffic with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of up to 12 tonnes will be diverted to the Old Mandovi Bridge, while heavier vehicles must use the Atal Setu bridge.

MARGAO Velsao villagers on Wednesday raised concerns about track doubling work in their village, saying land issues remain unresolved by the Land Survey Office. The villagers, who attended a hearing at the Land Survey Office in Margao, pointed out that work on the project is progressing rapidly, even though the South Western Railway and the Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd have yet to submit ownership documents for the land in question.
