The Crime Branch of Goa police on Sunday arrested a 49-year old Nigerian national for having in possession drugs worth Rs 2.50 lakhs.
The accused Ferdinand Udoji Okonkwo was caught red handed in possession of drugs, during a midnight raid on the internal road leading towards GCA ground, Porvorim.
According to the police, the accused had one transparent polythene packet containing white crystalline powder substance weighing 18.849 grams suspected to be psychotropic substance MDMA and another packet weighing 9.847 grams suspected to be cocaine, all worth Rs 2.50 lakhs in the international market.
Police also recovered Rs 4,000 cash and one mobile phone from the accused.
An offence under NDPS Act 1985 has been registered and the further investigation is in progress.
