A total of nine persons lost their lives to Covid-19 taking the death toll to 477. Shockingly, the deceased persons include a 43-year-old woman from Vasco with no comorbid conditions who succumbed within 45 minutes of being admitted at the hospital. She suffered from COVID-induced pneumonia.
Of the nine deaths, five occurred at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim while three were recorded at ESI COVID Hospital in Margao and one at a private hospital in North Goa.
Three of the patients passed away within 10 hours of being admitted at the hospital. The other deceased persons include a 75-year-old man from Raia, a 60-year-old woman from Ponda, a 65-year-old man from Curchorem, a 52-year-old man from Bardez, a 74-year-old man from North Goa, a 48-year-old woman from Betalbhatim, a 70-year-old man from Carambolim and a 61-year-old man from Betim-Reis Magos.
Meanwhile, 432 more people tested positive for the infection in the state taking the total confirmed cases to 36,672. Of these, 31,444 have recovered while 4,749 are presently active. The recovery rate in Goa is presently 85.74 per cent.
