Notorious burglar wanted in 100 cases held in M'rashtra

Old Goa Police have arrested interstate notorious housebreaking thief from Kavte Mahakal area of Maharashtra, in a joint operation with the local police there.  

Following a theft complaint, the Old Goa police through meticulous approach and intelligence sources, identified the accused person Lokesh Suthar (30) from Miraj, Sangli, Maharashtra. The accused was wanted in close to 100 similar cases, reported across Maharashtra.

As per the information provided, the team of Old Goa Police visited Miraj, Sangli, and other parts of Maharashtra, and with the help of Kavate Mahakal Police Station and Sangli Gramin police station managed to trace the accused person.

Further he was brought at Old Goa police station and placed under arrest under Cr no 95/2024, u/s 305 of BNS.  

“The timely coordination between District SP North Goa and District SP Sangli Maharashtra was an important turning point to nab the long absconding accused,” the police said.

Later, the accused made efforts to prevent his arrest in other cases by showing signs of epilepsy attacks and pretending to be mentally ill. On the medical grounds, he was shifted to IPHB.
