OLD GOA
The Additional Director of Panchayats (ADP) adjourned the Old Goa structure matter to October 20 even as the intervention application of a fourth party was taken up on Monday.
The fourth party, Agnelo Barretto, apparently had filed the intervention plea in August. But his application was taken up only on Monday after consecutive adjournments.
Speaking to reporters, Barretto’s lawyer Adv Sahil Sardessai informed that the ADP S P Naik Goltekar will take up the application of all the intervenors at the next hearing.
On his part, Barretto said he has conclusive evidence to prove that the structure is illegal due to which he has decided to intervene in the matter.
It may be recalled that already the application of three intervenors is pending with the ADP. They are Save Old Goa Action Committee, Adv Amit Palekar, and Golda Almedia & others.
Although the purpose of all the intervenors appears to be the same, eyebrows have been raised over the delay it causes to the matter due to too many interventions.
