Amid rising Covid cases in Canacona, one Omicron case was detected in the taluka on Wednesday.In a tweet, the health minister stated that one of the eight Genome Sequence Reports tested positive for Omicron, as confirmed by NIV Pune, was in Canacona and the patient did not have any travel history.
Meanwhile, Canacona has recorded a total of 43 Covid cases as on Wednesday, after 8 tested positive on Monday and 6 each on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Two weeks ago, nearly 16 boarders at a girl's hostel were found infected with coronavirus.
