A 22-year-old resident of Nagao has been arrested and a juvenile detained for stealing a scooter and Mapusa Police have recovered the stolen two-wheeler from their possession.
The accused has been identified as Aurelio DeSouza resident of Fuldemwado, Nagao in Bardez
On September 16, Vithal Korgaonkar of Khalapwado, Canca lodged a complaint alleging that unknown person stole his Vespa scooter in the wee hours of Thursday parked in the open space in front of his residence.
Based on the complaint, police during the course of investigation apprehended the two accused.During interrogation the accused admitted his involvement in the crime.
The accused was placed under the arrest under section 379 of the IPC and the stolen scooter was recovered from him.
Head Constable Franky Vaz and Police Constables Prakash Polekar, Abhishek Kasar, Vinay Hiroji and Sandesh Nagoji were part of the team who conducted the investigation and apprehended the accused. HC Shivaji Shetkar is conducting further investigation under supervision of PI Tushar Lotlikar and SDPO Gajanan Prabhudessai.
