Calangute Police after a brief car chase arrested one person for allegedly stabbing a colleague at Aguada on Wednesday.
The accused Amit Dhawan who is a non-Goan has been arrested for attempt to murder.
The victim, Satish Kumar Reddy (45), a resident of Hyderabad, who has multiple injuries has been admitted at the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim where his condition is reportedly stable.
The incident happened at around 2.30 pm.
Police informed that the accused and the victim were residing in Goa for the last 10 years and both knew each other very well. Police also said that both were working in a resort in Candolim.
On Wednesday noon the accused called the victim to the Helipad, Aguada and attacked him with a knife inflicting injuries on his neck and throat.
After committing the crime, the accused fled from the spot.
On getting information, Calangute Police flashed wireless messages to all police stations in order to track the accused.
Finally, police managed to track the car of the accused at O’Coqueiro, Porvorim and after a brief car chase managed to nab the accused.
“The accused was planning to move out of Goa but we managed to nab him in a short span of time after a car chase. We are conducting an inquiry to find out the exact motive in the case,” Calangute PI Dattaguru Sawant said. Calagute Police is investigating further.
