A 26-year-old man was arrested on charges of illegal possession of narcotic drugs suspected to be ganja worth Rs 1.10 lakh at Parra, Mapusa police said.
The alleged accused, Ashok Gullar of Anjuna, was apprehended in the case.
Acting on specific information, a police team conducted a raid at the four-road junction in Parra at around 3 am on Saturday and apprehended the accused who was found in possession of narcotic drugs suspected to be ganja weighing Rs 1.10 kg and worth Rs 1.10 lakh.
Mapusa Police registered an offence under section 20(b)(ii)(A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
The accused was arrested and the drugs were attached.
The raiding team comprised PSI Viraj Korgaonkar, LPSI Sneha Sawal, Head Constable Sushant Chopdekar and Police Constables Rajesh Kandolkar, Sarvesh Mandrekar and Pandurang Usapkar. LPSI Sneha Sawal is investigating further.
