Ordinances to streamline ‘Mhaje Ghar’ scheme get Cabinet nod

Chief Minsiter Pramod Sawant, who chaired an impromptu cabinet meeting on Wednesday, said that ordinances have been cleared for promulgation to amend the Goa Panchayati Raj Act, the Goa Municipalities Act and the Corporation of the City of Panaji Act to align these laws and resolve technical hitches in the implementation of the 'Mhaje Ghar' scheme.
Sawant, who did not hold his customary post-cabinet meeting press conference, was speaking to waiting media persons as he was leaving the Ministerial Block at the Secretariat in Porvorim. He said the objective of the ordinances is solely to streamline the implementation of the ‘Mhaje Ghar’ scheme. He, however, did not elaborate on the details of the ordinances cleared by his cabinet, nor did he say how soon they will be promulgated.
