A total of 2,020 senior citizens and persons between 45 and 59 years of age received the first dose of 'Covishield' Covid vaccine across the state on Tuesday.
While 1,853 people above 60 years of age received the vaccine, 167 persons within 45 and 59 years of age with co-morbidities were administered the vaccine.
The turnout was much higher in South Goa with 1,089 persons receiving the vaccine while 931 people got the jabs in North Goa.
Meanwhile, 47 new cases of the infection were detected from among the 1,554 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
No Covid fatalities were recorded in the mortality bulletin of the state on Tuesday.
