PANAJI
More than a month after warning of legal action against offshore casinos, the Enough is Enough movement has moved the High Court of Bombay at Goa, seeking to restrain the entry of a new casino vessel into the Mandovi River.
The public interest litigation (PIL) is scheduled to be heard on Wednesday.
The movement’s core committee had, at a meeting last month, resolved to file two writ petitions, including one challenging the proposed offshore casino.
Ferdino Rebello, the retired Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, had said the petition would centre on alleged irregularities in casino operations. He added that the writ petition concerning the casino was already drafted.
