PM’s visit: Inland water traffic prohibited, varsity road closed

The water traffic in the river will be prohibited in view of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit for the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at the Shamaprasad Mukharjee stadium Bambolim on Monday. The Dona Paula to Bambolim road traffic will also be closed for some time during the function.

The Captain of Ports (CoP) issued a notice prohibiting inland water traffic in rivers Mandovi and Zuari in view of the PM’s visit.

As per notice issued by the SP Traffic S M Prabhudesai, the route from NIO Circle, Dona Paula to GMC Bambolim will be closed for vehicular traffic, from 10 am to 11 am and 12 noon to 12.30 pm.

The vehicles plying to the venue have to take a road via GMC to Goa University road. Buses coming from South Goa will have to come via Borim-Ponda-Banastarim, Merces route to the venue.
