MARGAO
Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar on Saturday publicly admitted that Power infrastructure has been toned up only in the constituencies of former power ministers over the last two decades.
He, however, said the government headed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has now resolved to strengthen the power infrastructure across the State without any discrimination.
“It is a fact that Power infrastructure has been laid in the constituencies of Margao, Nuvem, Curchorem and Mormugao during the tenure of the former power ministers Digambar Kamat, Alexio Sequeira, Nilesh Cabral and Milind Naik respectively”, Dhavalikar said, adding that the entire state has been taken up for strengthening the power infrastructure under the leadership of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
The Rs 11.04 Crore power infrastructure works in Benaulim would entail setting up of three transformers, replacement of around 1,020 poles, 23 kilometres of new line, etc.
The Power Minster further said that two separate tenders will be floated in the next 10 days amounting to Rs 35 crore to further tone up the power infrastructure in Benaulim constituency.
