Former Power Minister Mauvin Godinho has been granted exemption by the South Goa Sessions Court from appearing in the court in the power rebate scam.
Additional Sessions Judge Vincent D’Silva granted the exemption to the former Power Minister when the matter came up for hearing on Thursday. Mauvin had applied to the court for exemption from appearing in the court.
Sources said the former Minister had appeared in the court during one of the hearings in the case when the court had sought sureties.
The Crime branch had filed a chargesheet against the former Power Minister and the representatives of two companies in the alleged power rebate scam. The case was later adjourned to April 7 for further hearing.
