RENEWABLE ENERGY: RAPID GROWTH

From a modest 4.09 MW in 2019, Goa’s renewable energy capacity has grown rapidly to the present 73.43 MW. 

Official data shows that solar power generation increased from 4.09 MW in 2018-19 to 5.29 MW in 2019-20 and further to 7.95 MW in 2020-21. The sector gained momentum in 2021-22, touching 20.34 MW, and rose to 26.88 MW in 2022-23.

A major surge was recorded in 2023-24, when renewable energy capacity jumped to 45.47 MW. In 2024-25, an additional 14 MW was added, taking the total installed capacity to 58.43 MW by the end of the financial year.
