An unknown person has been booked for committing theft of gold ornaments worth Rs 1.50 lakh by breaking open the locked house in Verla-Canca, Mapusa Police said.
The complainant, Nuzhat Ansari, a resident of Pinto-vaddo, Verla Canca said unknown persons entered into the house by break opening the lock on the main door and decamped with gold ornaments. According to the police the incident took place between August 21 and 23.
The accused took advantage of the situation as the house was locked, police said.
Mapusa Police have registered an offence under section 454, 457 and 380 of the IPC against unknown persons. Further investigations are on.
