Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, Poriem MLA Deviya Rane and BJP State secretary, Damu Naik visited the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh on Monday.
Later, speaking to media there, Sawant said he "prayed for everyone’s well being."
Sawant also posted on X: "Offered my humble prayers at Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, seeking prosperity for the State and people of Goa."
On Monday, a special aarti was performed at the Mahakaleshwar temple at 4 am. The 'Bhasma Aarti' of Lord Shiva is performed only in Mahakaleshwar temple of Ujjain with fresh ashes of the pyre.
A priest at the temple told the news agency ANI that the gates of the temple were opened early and the special aarti was also performed.
"The gates of the temple were opened early today...CM of Goa also visited the temple with his prayers and I wish that all his wishes are fulfilled..." the priest was quoted as saying.
Rane too took to X to say: "Post the darshan at Mahakaleshwar Temple, we addressed and shared our divine experience, One that provides a deep sense of connection, peace and introspection. Truly, it was a journey not just of miles, but of the soul."
Both Sawant and Rane, according to BJP sources are assigned party work in the poll-bound Madhya Pradesh and are expected to interact with local leaders of the areas they have been allotted.
Sawant meanwhile, interacted with local BJP leaders and media in Indore, including the MP of Indore, Shankar Lalwani and Indore BJP city president, Gaurav Ranadive.
