With two more cases of sexual abuse registered against the self-defense trainer, the women police will seek police custody of the accused, currently lodged in the judicial lockup at Colvale Jail.
The self-defense instructor from Bicholim was arrested on October 31 following a complaint by a local NGO alleging that he sexually abused his 15-year-old student on the pretext of medical check-ups over one year.
In his deposition before the magistrate, the survivor maintained that his trainer victimized him on several occasions since August 2021.
During the investigation, the police identified two more victims who also claimed that their trainer abused them sexually on various occasions. Two fresh First Information Reports were registered on Sunday, based on their complaints.
"He is presently lodged in judicial custody We will approach the court to seek his police custody in the new cases registered against him," an official said indicating more victims could be identified in the coming days. The two victims are also likely to depose under section 164 of CrPC before a magistrate. The Women police are also recording statements of all those linked with the accused and the victims for more leads.
The FIRs are under section 377 (unnatural offenses) of the Indian Penal Code, and relevant sections of the Goa Children’s Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act. The investigation team also suspects the involvement of more accused in the case.
