The South Goa Sessions Court will frame charges against the six accused in the Hazrat Ali Sheikh alias Sheikh Anwar attempt to murder case on Tuesday.
Sessions Judge-I Judge Vincent D’Silva was scheduled to frame the charge against the six accused persons on Thursday. However, the court adjourned the matter to next week due to the absence of two of the accused in the case.
The attempt to murder case has come under the spotlight in view of the brutal murder of Hazrat Ali Sheikh alias Sheikh Anwar at Shaunar-Karnataka on Sunday. Though Sheikh Anwar was the complainant in the attempt to murder case that occurred in Fatorda in February last, the trial against the six accused persons will continue despite Anwar’s death.
At the last date of hearing, Judge Vincent had ordered framing of the charge against six of the accused, while discharging two accused from the case.
The six accused persons, against whom the court will frame the charge includes Ricky Hornekar (28) Pontemol, Curchorem, Imran Bepari, (32) St Cruz, Kalaphur, Tiswadi, HarshavardhanSawal, (37) Waiginwada, Bardez, Sudan Da Costa, (40) Seraulim and Vasant @ Amir Gavande, (38) Near Peace Valley, Shirvoi, Quepem and Vally George Da Costa,(31) Tilamol, Quepem.
Vijay Karbotkar, (31) Coelho wado, Brittona, Bardez and MahendraTanawde (37), 20 Point Program, Porvorim, have been discharged in the case.
While all the six accused persons will be charged under sections 143, 147, 148, 307 and 120-B r/w 149 IPC, accused Vally will face the charge under the Arms Act.
Meanwhile, Judge Vincent heard arguments on the bail application filed by accused Ricky Hornekar in the attempt to murder case. The Judge has reserved his order in the bail plea on Tuesday next.
