A special court in Mapusa on Thursday adjourned the matter in the Louis Berger money laundering case against former chief minister Digambar Kamat and ex-PWD minister Churchill Alemao to August 16.
Further arguments took place in the application moved by former chief minister Digambar Kamat under section 319 of the CrPC, 1973.
Judge Sherin Paul has now fixed the matter for orders on August 16.
Meanwhile, Special Public Prosecutor Siddharth Samant has agreed to represent the State in the other case under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Samant will appear in the case from the next date.
The court had last month framed charges against Kamat and Alemao under Section 3 of the Money Laundering Act in connection with the infamous Louis Berger money laundering case.
However, both the alleged accused claimed that they were innocent and would face trial.
Representatives of the ED, Special Public Prosecutor Siddharth Samant were present in the court while Adv PS Rao Adv S Sardesai appeared for Kamat and Alemao respectively.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in 2015 against both Kamat and Alemao who were ministers in the government in 2010, Louis Berger and others.
