Speaker refuses to allow debate on Rahul episode

PANAJI

Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Ramesh Tawadkar refused to allow discussion on the expulsion of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as the Lok Sabha member. Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao asked the House if “it is a crime to spread love and unity” as Gandhi launched Bharat Jodo Yatra covering a distance of 4,000 kms from South to North of India.

The Congress leaders have been holding a protest across the country, against Gandhi’s disqualification. The State Congress legislators on Monday wore black attire to the Assembly as a part of the pan-India protest.
