Land grab accused Suleman Khan alias Siddiqui, accused in several criminal cases, has been brought back to Goa from the custody of Delhi police in connection with a forgery case. Khan is currently in judicial custody.
A month ago, Khan was taken to Delhi under heavy security in a forgery case.
According to the police, four cases of land grabbing are registered against him in Goa. He faces a total of at least eight cases across Goa, Delhi and Hyderabad, including charges of murder, attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy and land grabbing.
He is also under investigation for allegedly fleeing from the custody of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) last December while under arrest in a land grab case. He was re-arrested two weeks later in Hubballi, Karnataka.
The SIT has described Khan as a “hardened criminal”. Meanwhile, the High Court of Bombay at Goa is hearing his criminal writ petition challenging his arrest, alleging that it was carried out to divert attention from major issues in the State.
