Suspended KR PI was proactive in tackling illegal meat trade: Bajrang Dal

MARGAO

Goa Bajrang Dal leader Viraj Desai has said arrested and suspended Konkan Railway police station PI Sunil Gudlar had been a proactive officer in intercepting the illegal meat trade taking place between Goa and other states via the railways.

Expressing his shock and surprise over the arrest of PI Gudlar in the bribery case amounting to Rs 25,000, Viraj said the police officer had always extended his help and assistance in intercepting illegal beef import via the trains. “The PI has been charged after cash of Rs 25,000 was found in his drawer. But, I have seen that cash of Rs 35 lakh was there at the Konkan railway police station after the cash was attached in another case, but there is no accusation of any corruption. We have doubt over the way PI Gudlar has been arrested in the case”, he added.

The Bajrang Dal’s statement assumes significance and comes against the backdrop of a similar statement made by president of Kesariya Hindu Vahini Rajeev Jha that PI Gudlar has been falsely implicated by the beef mafia.
