Emphasizing that the government has not stopped the Goa Tamnar Transmission Project, Power Minister, Nilesh Cabral said the Supreme Court-appointed panel Central Empowerment Committee had given a vague recommendation on the project.
He said the CEC wants the government to remove the 220 KV and 11 KV power line and run it on the 400 KV line.
“We said we cannot remove both the lines. We will remove one line of 110 KV and put on the existing line. But they are telling us to remove both the lines which is not possible because the moment we remove both the lines we will have a lot of power issues in South Goa,” Cabral said.
The CEC in its report had recommended that the alignment of the Tamnar project for laying of lines for the additional 400 KV feed to Goa be redrawn and modified along the existing 220KV line.
