BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade has said that anyone involved in the Assagao house demolition, regardless of their position, should face legal action.
On his return from Delhi, Tanavade criticized the actions of the police.
"It was incorrect for the police to support the demolition without a court order. If there had been a court directive, the police following it would be justified. However, acting on someone's directions without such an order is unacceptable," Tanavade stated.
The BJP Chief backed the Chief Secretary-led inquiry stating it would reveal hidden truths.
"Action has been initiated and it must continue. Those responsible, irrespective of their rank should be punished," he stated.
No cabinet reshuffle
Tanavade has once again ruled out the possibility of a cabinet reshuffle, clarifying that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant's visit to Delhi, along with the separate visits of five MLAs, was merely coincidental.
"It was a sheer coincidence that the five MLAs turned up in Delhi. They met different union ministers for their respective works. CM was also there for State-related issues," Tanavade said.
He denied any immediate reshuffle in the cabinet reiterating it is CM's prerogative. "Monsoon session of the assembly is approaching... there will be no reshuffle. I am not aware of any reshuffle plans thereafter either; it is for the CM to decide," he added.
