Telangana HC grants pre-arrest bail to Edwin Nunes

PANAJI

The Telangana High Court has granted pre-arrest bail to Curlies' Edwin Nunes in connection with an interstate drug racket, on a condition that he surrenders before the Lalaguda  police on November 7 and furnishes a surety of a sum of Rs 1 lakh.

Nunes had withdrawn his anticipatory bail plea before the Supreme Court last month and filed a fresh application in the High Court citing conditional bail to Pritesh Borkar and John Stephen D'Souza aka Steve. His plea was heard on Monday wherein he was granted relief on a set of conditions including surrendering himself before the police.

Senior Counsel appearing for Nunes argued that there was absolutely no offence against Nunes. "It was only on the basis of a vague allegation made in the complaint stating that in the month of March, 2022, accused Shyam Thakur met Nunes for which reason, he was implicated in the present case," the counsel said.
