Thunderstorms disrupt flight operations at Dabolim Airport, five flights diverted

Panaji: Heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms disrupted flight operations at the Goa International airport Dabolim, leading to diversion of five commerical flights.

Out of the five flights, two were diverted to Hyderabad, while three were rerouted to Bangalore.

A source at the airport confirmed that the weather caused significant delays. “Five flights were diverted last night because of the bad weather. Two flights went to Hyderabad and three to Bangalore. Thankfully, the weather improved by around 12:10 AM, and normal operations resumed," sources said

The flights that were diverted included one Vistara flight and four Indigo Airlines flights. After the weather cleared, all the affected flights were able to eventually return to Goa.
