A day after the Goa State Industries Association President’s critical comments about government inaction to help the suffering industry, the Goa State Industrial Development Corporation President, Glen Ticlo blammed the slow response from the industries department officials and neglect of the Chief Minister to his demands has made his corporation work with difficulty.
Ticlo, however, categorically denied the corruption charge made on his corporation by the GSIA President Damodar Kochkar.
“This type of allegations are not expected from a senior businessmen like Damodar Kochkar. I will issue a show cause notice to him and ask him to prove his allegations,” said fuming Glen Ticlo.
Alleging that there is no support from the officials of industries department as files are not getting cleared easily.
He also alleged that good officers from the GSIDC have been shunted out which is making his corporation work with difficulty.
“If I get more help I can work properly. I have told the Chief Minister many times about this but nothing has happened,” said Ticlo.
GSIA president in a public statement issued on Thursday had alleged that the government has failed to assist industries struggling due to Covid pandemic.
While reacting to allegations of Kochkar, Ticlo said that the GSIDC has no other option than to recover water bills from the industries at higher rates as WRD told the corporation to pay Rs 3 crore of pending bill amount and termed that this may be one of the reason Damodar Kochkar is upset.
