Ticlo gets second term as VP in BJP line-up

MAPUSA
In a significant move aimed at strengthening its organisational structure in Goa, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed former Aldona MLA Glen Souza Ticlo as one of the six Vice Presidents of the party's State unit.

The appointment was part of a broader list of office bearers announced by BJP National President J P Nadda for the 2025“2028 term.

Ticlo’s elevation to the post is seen as a continuation of his rising influence within the party. He had previously served as Vice President during the last tenure and his reappointment signals the party’s confidence in his leadership and political acumen.

A two-time MLA from Aldona, Ticlo has been a consistent presence in the BJP ranks and is considered a key figure in the party’s outreach to minority communities in the State.

“Ticlo has been a loyal party worker and an important face in North Goa. His appointment reflects the BJP’s emphasis on balanced and inclusive representation in the organisational setup,” a senior party leader said.

Sources within the party revealed that Ticlo’s name was recommended by the State leadership and subsequently ratified by the central command, in line with the BJP’s internal consultation process.

Political observers have noted that the BJP’s decision to retain Ticlo in a senior position highlights its continued efforts to engage with minority communities and project a broader social base within the State.
